What to Wear: New D.C. Restaurants

You have to check out this cute mural at Dacha Navy Yard

Sooo…I have a secret. Whenever I’m going to a new restaurant, my first move is looking up pictures of the interior and then matching my outfit to the restaurant. This is both because I’m truly excited to try a new place, and also because mayyyybe just maybe my fiance will take my picture at whatever place (thanks Andrew!!!).

Primrose DC: DC (Brookland)

Primrose has a beautiful interior, think the inside of a very swanky French boudoir. I saw a photo of this place on IG and basically made Andrew make a reservation with his friends (don’t feel too sorry for him, he’s a huge foodie). I got the steak and Frites red wine and we split a bunch of sides and desserts.  Highly recommend the pots de creme!  This Jonathan Simkhai dress is one  I have rented several times and also comes in golden yellow. Buena Vida Social Club: Arlington (Clarendon)

Arlington’s hottest club is Buena Vida Social Club. While Arlington might not be the first place in the area that you think of when you think chic and sexy…Buena Vida is really changing the perception in the area. Plus, with three levels of different vibes (downstairs is a chill taco bar that Andrew and I frequent often), there’s plenty to experience here. The second level is perfect for brunch (there’s even a Whole30 dish on their menu!) and the rooftop is the perfect place to pretend you’re in Havana with a coconut cup drink. This Ulla Johnson number is perfectly on trend with the whole prairie dress thing, but has a slight Latin edge that perfectly lends itself to a brunch or drinks date at Buena Vida.

Dacha Navy Yard: DC (Navy Yard)

Dacha Navy Yard has a GREAT beer garden for days when you’re looking to pick up some drinks before a Nats game. But don’t overlook the dining room and upscale open-air lounge. Definitely recommend their cocktail menu, the steak, their brussels sprouts, and most of all the mac and cheese (a can’t miss). Be sure to get there with plenty of time to get a photo at the Jackie O mural on the other side (outside) of the bar. This Tanya Taylor midi has just the right amount of chic polish to make sure you look beautiful sitting daintily atop those cocktail stools–and is also the perfect work-to-happy-hour look.

Have you ever dressed for the place you’re going to dinner or drinks? Am I just completely nuts? Let me know on IG or in the comments below. Happy renting, stylish friends!
